Dixcart stay onboard for the IOMFA Railway Cup
Douglas-based Corporate Service Provider, Dixcart, has agreed to remain onboard with the Isle of Man Football Association, for its second year of Railway Cup sponsorship.
The Dixcart Railway Cup is a competition steeped in Manx footballing history, having first been played in 1906. The current format sees the top four teams in the Canada Life Premier Division at the half-way stage of the season contesting the semi-finals, before meeting in the showpiece final on Boxing Day at The Bowl. This year’s competition will be the 104th!
Steve Doyle, who is a Manx football enthusiast and Director of Dixcart commented: ‘We are very pleased to be able to sponsor the IOMFA Railway Cup competition, which has a long history of showcasing the best of Manx football. The Boxing Day final is always a highlight and a chance for the public to come together, in the fresh air, to enjoy a community event.’
President of the Isle of Man Football Association, Tony Mepham, said: ‘We’re delighted Dixcart has agreed to renew its sponsorship of the Railway Cup, which will get underway with the semi-finals in early December. Thanks to Dixcart for their ongoing support.’
The draw for the semi-finals, which will be played on Saturday 4th December (1.15pm kick off) was made at the weekend:
