Beth Craig in the spotlight at Blackpool FC
Beth attended a trial with Blackpool FC’s U11’s on November 5th 2016, after one trial coach was impressed with Beth and signed her up on the spot. After speaking with Beth, she seemed delighted to have been selected and described the trial as challenging.
Blackpool FC has asked for Beth to travel to UK to attend fixtures twice a month as well as attending training session every 3 weeks. Beth and her parents are keen to uphold this where possible and have been looking for sponsorship to assist with financial cost of travel.
Last weekend Beth came on for as substitute for the U11’s side as they played Preston North End at Skelmersdale. The match report stating;
‘Beth Craig entered the stage and showed what a terrific addition to the squad she is. Fighting for the ball she showed great strength and composure to find Emma Siddall. Blackpool’s fans were smiling. Emma Siddall had shown typical skill and determination to fire off a shot in the tightest of spaces.’
IOMFA Development Officers are pleased player’s like Beth are getting the opportunity to go away to the UK gain experience and creating a pathway for themselves in the female game. Beth has proved herself to be one of the top preforming players for her age and has made the step up the U13’s Player Development Centre team.
