Board of Directors
Who We Are

Ali was born in Northern Ireland in 1967 - the NI “Troubles” began in 1969 - therefore all she knew growing up were, ‘The Troubles’. This was normality for her.

After attending the University of Ulster in Coleraine -B.A. Hons., Education - she qualified as a teacher in 1989. After teaching in Northern Ireland, went to Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo -DRC) for three-and-a-half years with Africa Inland Mission to work as their Home Schooling Coordinator.

At the end of 1996 she was evacuated from Zaire during the outbreak of civil war along with Neil Vondy who was in Zaire as a short-term volunteer. Neil and Ali married in May 1997 and Ali moved to the Isle of Man to join Neil - a man who can stick with you during an evacuation at gunpoint is worth keeping around! Neil and Ali have been married for 28 years and have two daughters.

Having worked as a teacher for 30+ years,  Ali increasingly became involved in mental health and wellbeing promotion both in schools and the wider community. After training as an instructor with Mental Health First Aid England and Mindapples UK,  she founded Manx Minds - a Mental Health Training Organisation, to further advance her passion to dispel the stigma around mental health issues and to provide a more proactive way to promote positive mental health for all. Manx Minds provides both accredited Mental Health First Aider® training and bespoke wellbeing seminars.

Over recent years Ali has had the privilege of training people across the Isle of Man in a wide variety of sectors - business, corporate, sports clubs & coaches, government, schools, charities & churches. Ali has also had the opportunity to train with businesses globally; including the USA, Australia, the Caribbean, Japan, across Europe and the Channel Islands.

In 2022 Ali co-founded, “Isle Stand Up to Suicide” a suicide intervention charity in the Isle of Man, in order to make a proactive difference to the number of deaths from suicide in the island.

Ali has been the non-executive Director of Health & Wellbeing for the Isle of Man FA since November 2023.

Lewis Maunze is a legal professional with 13 years’ experience as a state prosecutor, anti-corruption advocate, lawyer and currently works in financial services. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) and a FIFA/CIES Executive Sports Management certificate.

Within sports Lewis has served as a Regional Football Association Prosecutor/Counsel in disciplinary matters.

He joined the Football Association in October 2023 and his current role, has been to monitor the implementation of policies and be the governance lead within the Isle of Man FA.

Mike joined the Board in 2017 following a career in a Zurich financial services as HR Director on the island, and latterly as an HR Business Partner in Switzerland.

He has a passion for team and people development and is trained in executive coaching.

Since his appointment he has been the Board Safeguarding Champion, guiding the Isle of Man FA through three external assessments and helped embed safeguarding as part of our everyday life and processes.

Vicki joined the Board of Directors in December 2023 bringing a wealth of business acumen from 20+ years in the financial services industry.

A qualified Project and Programme Manager she has delivered small projects, led large strategic programmes and directed global business change portfolios with multi-million-pound budgets. She has established and headed-up H.R. functions, modernised working practises,  is a qualified Organisational Culture expert and specialises in connecting employee performance to company strategy and reward.

She is a regulator approved Pension Scheme Trustee.

Vicki believes that ingraining diversity, equality and inclusion throughout an organisation is both commercially advantageous and the right thing to do.  Her work in this space has won two awards and established her as an expert speaker on the subject.

Local to the Island, Vicki’s comprehensive skill set has been built through a range of roles within three different multi-national businesses.

She has experienced working in Dublin, Isle of Man, Jersey, London and Switzerland; and has worked with teams based across the Asia-Pacific-Middle-East region and Canada.
